MILWAUKEE FESTIVAL BRASS OPEN AUDITIONS

We will maintain a spreadsheet of personnel and times. Auditions will be based on a first come, first served basis. Please note any time restrictions.

Milwaukee Festival Brass has openings for talented Brass and Percussion players interested in performing with Southeastern Wisconsin’s premier Brass Band. Every seat and position within the ensemble is open for assignment at the start of each new season – there are no “chairs for life” in Milwaukee Festival Brass.

Modeled on a traditional British Brass Band the band uses the following instrumentation:

  • 1 Eb Soprano Cornet (in lieu of Piccolo Trumpet)

  • 9 or more Bb Cornets (in lieu of Bb Trumpet)

  • 1 Bb Flugelhorn

  • 3 Eb Tenor Horns (in lieu of French Horn)

  • 2 Bb Baritone Horns

  • 2 Bb Euphoniums

  • 3 Bb Trombones

  • 1 Bass Trombone

  • 2 Eb Tubas

  • 3 BBb Tubas

  • 3 or 4 Percussionists (Drum Set, Tympani, etc.)

The required music for this year’s audition will incorporate two selections: one hymn tune and one British quickstep march
